The county’s definitive cart community: private streets, Greek-island villages, and a gate every cart must cross on a truck. We run that gate weekly — move-ins, first carts, and estates.

The Community
If San Diego County has a purpose-built golf cart community, it is Ocean Hills Country Club in Oceanside: a gated 55+ village of roughly 1,600 homes wrapped around its own executive golf course, where white Mediterranean villages named for Greek islands — Corfu, Mykonos, Santorini and their neighbors — share private streets on which the golf cart is simply how residents get around. Clubhouse, courts, course, neighbors: cart trips, all of them. Discount Movers delivers carts into, out of, and occasionally across this community as a standing part of our North County work.
The legal shape of OHCC explains the logistics. Inside the gates the streets are private — cart use runs on association rules rather than the Vehicle Code’s public-road limits. But the moment a cart needs to arrive or leave, it faces Oceanside’s public arterials, none of them cart-legal. So every cart in Ocean Hills got there the same way: on a truck, through the gate, inside a scheduled window. We’ve made that trip often enough that the office choreography — notice, window, escort rules, vendor COI when asked — is muscle memory.
| Step | Who handles it | When |
|---|---|---|
| Gate notice & delivery window | Discount Movers ↔ OHCC office | Before move day |
| Vendor COI (when required) | Sent same-day by us | With the gate notice |
| Key handoff (remote owners) | Office or neighbor, photo-confirmed | Pickup morning |
| Delivery to the space | Crew parks cart in garage/pad, keys over | Inside the window |
| Condition walk | Photos vs. pickup set, shared to your phone | At handoff |
The same choreography runs for estate pickups in reverse — executor kept in the loop at every step.
The Bookings
New resident, household truck, cart riding the same load. Cart comes off last and is parked in the garage or pad while boxes are still moving — driving the loops on day one. (The household side is our senior moving specialty.)
Residents who arrive cartless rarely stay that way. Used carts from Rancho Bernardo sellers or the Escondido shops, new LSVs from Cart Mart — we collect, document, and deliver through the gate.
When an OHCC home closes a chapter, the cart usually outlives the tenancy. Family out of state, key with the office or a neighbor, photos at every step, delivery to an heir in Poway or Phoenix — handled remotely, gently, completely.
Beyond The Gate
Ocean Hills anchors a broader North County cart circuit we run: Oceanside’s other 55+ pockets, Vista’s Shadowridge, and the Carlsbad communities ten minutes south. Carts rotate between them with the housing market — and when a resident’s next stop is Arizona family or seasonal storage, the same booking rolls into out-of-state shipping or a storage move without changing companies. Household context lives on our Oceanside and Vista pages.
