How To Read A Mover's Reviews

The total count is the least useful number on any review page, ours included. Two things matter more. The first is recency: sort to the newest and read the last ninety days, because a company that was good three years ago may have changed hands, changed crews or changed how it prices. The second is specificity. A review that names a neighborhood, a building, a crew or a piece of furniture was written by someone who was there. A review that says "great service, highly recommend" tells you nothing either way.

Read the negative ones properly rather than counting them. What matters is not that a company has complaints, because every mover that has done fifty thousand jobs has complaints. What matters is what the complaints are about and whether the company answered them. A pattern of the same problem is a signal. One angry review about a date that got moved is not.

Where Our Reviews Are, And What The Rating Means

Our rating is 4.6 stars, and we would rather publish that than round it up. It is spread across Google, Yelp and Nextdoor rather than concentrated on one platform, which is deliberate: a company with hundreds of reviews on a platform it controls and almost none anywhere else is telling you something. The reviews reproduced above are a selection, not the whole record, and the whole record is the thing worth reading.

One thing worth checking on any mover, not just us: does the review platform verify that the reviewer was a customer? Google and Yelp do not, in the strict sense. That is why the license numbers matter alongside the stars. Ours are CAL-T #201759, issued by the California Bureau of Household Goods and Services, and US DOT #4372335 for interstate work, and both are public records you can look up without asking us.
