San Diego to Vegas -
Via I-15 North

We load at your San Diego address, run the I-15 North corridor through Temecula, the Cajon Pass, and the Mojave Desert, and deliver to any Las Vegas Valley address. One crew, one truck, one flat rate.

📍
San Diego Origin
We pick up from any San Diego neighborhood, La Jolla, Chula Vista, Carlsbad, Miramar, Downtown, Rancho Bernardo, or anywhere in the county.
🛣️
I-15 North Corridor
Approximately 332 miles through Temecula, Riverside, Cajon Summit, Barstow, and Baker. The load climbs above 4,000 feet twice on this run, at Cajon Summit and again at Mountain Pass, which at 4,730 feet is the highest elevation I-15 reaches in California. We plan fuel stops and crew breaks around those two climbs and around the weekender traffic that fills I-15 northbound on Fridays and southbound on Sundays and holiday Mondays.
🏠
Las Vegas Delivery
We deliver to any Las Vegas Valley address, Summerlin, Henderson, North Las Vegas, Downtown, Southern Highlands, or any master planned community in Clark County.

I-15 North Mile Markers, Approximate

Mile 0
San Diego, Load day begins at your address
Mile 90
Riverside / Corona, Inland Empire, watch for I-15/215 split
Mile 128
Cajon Summit, the first of two climbs above 4,000 feet, trucks take it slow and we plan for this. Winter can bring occasional snow, chain control or high wind advisories at the summits, while the valley at the far end stays mild and dry
Mile 175
Barstow, High desert, good fuel stop, crew break
Mile 238
Baker, Mojave Desert, the heat leg, last California services of any size
Mile 290
Primm, Nevada state line, reached after the climb over Mountain Pass, which at 4,730 feet is the highest elevation I-15 reaches in California
Mile 332
Las Vegas Valley, Southern Highlands exit, then I-215 to your neighborhood

The Part Nobody Tells You

WE'RE THE CARRIER, NOT A BROKER

Nobody resells your Las Vegas move: the company that priced it loads it, drives it over Cajon Summit, and unloads it in the valley. Carrier versus broker, explained.

Delivering Throughout
The Las Vegas Valley

The Las Vegas Valley is made up of distinct cities and master planned communities. We deliver to all of them, from gated Summerlin estates to Henderson suburbs to Downtown high-rises.

Popular Destinations from San Diego

🌵

Summerlin

The largest master planned community in Las Vegas, with quick access to Red Rock Canyon. Summerlin reports more than 300 parks and over 200 miles of trails. It is not entirely inside city limits: Summerlin spans the City of Las Vegas and unincorporated Clark County, so which office controls the curb depends on your exact delivery address. HOA move in procedures apply, and many sections are gated, so arrange the gate code before delivery day.

🏡

Henderson

Nevada's second-largest city. Quiet master planned neighborhoods, Clark County School District schools, proximity to Lake Mead, and easy Strip access via I-215. Popular with San Diego retirees and families.

🏔️

Southern Highlands

The first major community off I-15 as you come in from California. Well-maintained master planned neighborhoods, newer construction, guard gated sections, and easy freeway access back to the coast. Guard gated sections need the gate code arranged before delivery day, and some HOAs want advance notice of a moving truck.

The SD to Vegas Move
Is Bigger Every Year

California to Nevada is a heavily traveled relocation corridor. Here's what's driving the move, and what to expect when you get there.

💰

No State Income Tax

Nevada has no state income tax. For San Diego professionals and business owners, this is often the single biggest financial driver. The savings compound fast, especially combined with significantly lower home prices.

🏠

Housing Affordability

The median home in Las Vegas is roughly half the price of comparable San Diego inventory. Many SD homeowners sell, move to Vegas, pay cash for a larger home, and still have money left over. Henderson and Summerlin offer high-quality suburban living at a fraction of SD prices.

☀️

Lifestyle & Climate

Las Vegas trades ocean breezes for dry desert heat, but also delivers a deep restaurant and entertainment scene, outdoor recreation at Red Rock and Lake Mead, and a growing arts and food scene in neighborhoods like Downtown and Summerlin.

📋

Lower Cost of Living

Beyond taxes and housing, everyday costs in Las Vegas are meaningfully lower than San Diego, utilities, groceries, insurance, and services all tend to run cheaper. Many households find themselves with substantially more disposable income after the move.

💼

Growing Job Market

Beyond hospitality, Las Vegas has expanding sectors in healthcare, technology, aerospace, and construction. Major employers have relocated or expanded in the valley. For remote workers already leaving San Diego, Vegas is an increasingly popular landing spot.

🌄

Outdoor Recreation

Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, Lake Mead, Mount Charleston and the Spring Mountains are all within an hour of the Strip. Many San Diego transplants are surprised by the outdoor lifestyle available in the Las Vegas Valley.

San Diego to Las Vegas
Moving FAQ

Everything you need to know about making the move from San Diego to Las Vegas with Discount Movers.

San Diego to Las Vegas moves are flat rate priced based on your home size, inventory, and any add-on services like packing. We give you a written quote before move day, call (858) 490-0155 for a free estimate. Most 2-bedroom moves run significantly less than you'd expect from a national van line.
San Diego to Las Vegas is 332 miles on I-15 North, which is well beyond the 200 mile radius that would make it a same day move. It is a day 2 delivery. We load at your San Diego address on day one, the drive starts the day after, and because the whole run fits inside a single 550 mile driving day there is no mid route overnight for your shipment. Your delivery is a date, given to you in writing before we load, never a window. How long load day itself runs depends on your home size and how long loading takes.
We take I-15 North end to end, and no other interstate is needed. Out of San Diego the route runs north through Escondido and Temecula, across the Inland Empire, then over Cajon Summit, which stands above 4,000 feet and where we account for the slower climb in a loaded truck. From there it drops through the high desert past Victorville to Barstow, crosses the open Mojave through Baker, and climbs a second time over Mountain Pass at 4,730 feet, the highest elevation I-15 reaches in California. Then it is down to the Nevada state line at Primm and into the Las Vegas Valley via Southern Highlands or I-215 depending on your delivery address.
Yes. We deliver to every Las Vegas Valley community, Summerlin, Henderson, Green Valley, Seven Hills, Anthem, Southern Highlands, North Las Vegas, Downtown Las Vegas, Centennial Hills, Spring Valley, Skye Canyon, Lake Las Vegas, and all surrounding areas. If it's in Clark County, we get you there.
Absolutely. We handle moves in both directions on the San Diego–Las Vegas corridor. If you're relocating back to San Diego from Vegas, call (858) 490-0155 for a flat rate quote.
Yes. Discount Movers is licensed by the BHGS and fully insured for interstate moves between California and Nevada. Our numbers are CAL-T #201759 and US DOT #4372335, and you are welcome to verify both before you book. We hold a 4.6 rating and a BBB A+ rating, and we have been family owned in San Diego since 1997. We are the carrier on your move, not a broker reselling it, so the crew that loads in San Diego is the crew that unloads in Las Vegas.
Yes, full and partial packing available for all long distance moves. Our professional packers ensure everything is properly secured for 332 miles of freeway travel including the Cajon Pass. 25 free moving boxes are included with every booking when arranged prior to move day.

How The Flat Rate Gets Set

We survey what is going before we price a Las Vegas move, in person or on a video call, and we sort the destination details too, down to the gate code a Summerlin section needs. The quote is a single flat rate covering the whole trip up I-15, put in writing before we load, with delivery on day 2. There is no deposit.

What The Truck Cannot Legally Carry

No household goods carrier may load hazardous materials, and the list is longer than most people expect. Propane tanks, including the one on the barbecue. Gasoline and the fuel in a mower or a generator. Aerosols, paint, solvents, pool chemicals, fertilizer, charcoal lighter, nail polish remover, and ammunition. Car batteries. Anything under pressure or anything that burns.

This is not a preference we could be talked out of. It is the rule that lets the truck cross state lines at all, and one leaking container can damage an entire load. Drain the fuel, use up or give away what you can in the two weeks before, and tell us about anything you are unsure of rather than quietly packing it. We would far rather answer the question than find it.

When The Two Dates Do Not Meet

Interstate moves very often have a gap: the house here closes or the lease ends on one date, and the keys at the other end come available on another. Sometimes it is three days, sometimes it is six weeks. Either way the answer is the same, and it is not a frantic sale of the furniture.

We store household goods, so the load can come off the truck here, wait, and go out again when the far end is ready, without a second company and a second set of hands on your things. Say on the first call which of the two dates is fixed and which is flexible, because that answer shapes the whole plan.

What We Do Not Do

Worth saying plainly, because the alternative is finding out late. We do not do international moves. We do not ship containers or portable storage pods. We do not transport cars, boats or motorcycles, and we cannot take one on the truck alongside the household goods. The one exception is a golf cart, which we do move; see our golf cart moving service.

What we do is household goods, in our own trucks, with our own crews, as the carrier rather than a broker reselling the job. If your move needs something on that first list, we would rather tell you now than take the booking and hand you a problem at the curb.

Plants, Pets And The Things That Travel Separately

Houseplants are the one that surprises people. They do not do well in a dark truck for several days, and moving them across a state line can run into agricultural rules at the far end. Our page on moving plants works through what actually applies. The short version is that treasured plants travel in the car with you or get given to a neighbor who will love them.

Pets never travel on the truck, and no reputable carrier will suggest otherwise. Plan their journey as its own trip with its own timing, and remember that the animal arrives into an empty house that smells wrong, so their bed and bowl belong in the car rather than in a carton.
