Questions

Do you power the servers back up?+

No. We move the hardware and rack it to the documented map. Powering up, restoring services and testing belongs to your IT team or your managed service provider. We schedule so they can start the moment the racks are in place rather than waiting on us.

Do you move racks fully loaded?+

Sometimes. A lightly loaded rack on a good route can travel populated. A heavy one gets stripped, with equipment moved separately and reracked at the destination. Rack construction, weight distribution and the route decide it, and we work that out during the survey.

How do you make sure everything goes back the same way?+

Photographs and labels at both ends before anything is unplugged. Front and back of every rack photographed, every cable and port tagged. The photographs matter as much as the labels when something does not come back cleanly.

Can you do it over a weekend?+

Yes, and most IT cutovers happen then. Tell us your acceptable downtime window and we build the schedule backwards from it.

What about our printers and copiers?+

We move and place them. Devices under a vendor contract often require that vendor to decommission and recommission, so check your agreement. We coordinate around their visit.

Is the equipment insured in transit?+

We carry cargo liability on every load. Standard coverage on a household goods move is weight based rather than value based, which is rarely adequate for IT hardware, so talk to us about declared value before move day rather than after.
