Several floors or several sites, a business that cannot stop trading, IT that has to come down in a particular order and go back up in the reverse, building rules at both ends, and a date that will not move. The moving itself is the easy part. What actually decides whether it goes well is the sequence, the labeling system and having one person who knows the whole plan rather than four crews each knowing a piece of it.

Decommission and close out

Corporate moves in San Diego usually run between a few known districts. Downtown towers are the strictest environment, with reserved freight elevators, certificates of insurance filed in advance and after hours windows that are enforced. UTC and the Golden Triangle hold the larger professional services and finance floors. Sorrento Valley, Sorrento Mesa and Torrey Pines carry the biotech and tech corridor, where a move often includes lab space and the two halves have to be sequenced together. Mission Valley runs older multi tenant office stock, easier on rules and harder on parking. Carlsbad and the 78 corridor holds suburban campuses where grade level access makes a large move far quicker than the same square footage downtown. Questions

Can you move us without shutting down?+

That is the usual brief. Departments move in phases, normally over weekends, with the teams who can work remotely moving first. Tell us what cannot stop and the plan gets built backwards from that constraint.

Do we get one person to deal with?+

Yes. One point of contact holds the plan across every phase and site. With several crews and several weekends, that continuity is the difference between a move that improves each week and one that repeats its mistakes.

How far ahead should we start planning?+

For a multi floor or multi site move, two to three months is comfortable. The long lead items are rarely the trucks. They are freight elevator reservations, building approvals, certificates of insurance and your own IT cutover window.

Can you handle the IT move as well?+

Workstations, printers, network gear and server racks, yes. Our IT and server relocation page covers the sequence and the labeling. Anything requiring a vendor to certify a system stays with that vendor.

What happens to furniture we are not taking?+

It can be removed and disposed of, or held if you want to try to sell it. Old space is cleared to whatever your lease condition requires, and we will read that clause with you if it is unclear.

Do you provide certificates of insurance for both buildings?+

Yes, at no charge, for as many buildings as the move touches. Send us the wording each building requires. Our certificate of insurance page explains what managers usually ask for.
