Clinical & Practice Relocation

Medical Office
Moving San Diego

Practice Moves,
Straight Answer

Moving a practice is a scheduling problem before it is a moving problem. Every day the chairs are down is a day of canceled appointments, so the plan is built around reopening rather than around loading. Operatories and exam rooms move first and land first, because they are what generates revenue. Reception and waiting areas go last and get set last, because they are what patients see on day one. Records travel separately under chain of custody. If the question is the equipment itself, our medical equipment moving page covers the machines in detail. This page is about relocating the practice as a business.

The plan starts from your reopening date

We work backwards from the first appointment at the new address. That decides load order, crew size and whether the job runs after hours or across a weekend.

Clinical rooms first, front of house last

Exam rooms and operatories land and get set before anything else, so clinical staff can stock and test while reception is still on the truck.

Records move under chain of custody

Sealed, labeled and inventoried, kept on our truck with our own crew and never handed to a third party. A written chain of custody form is signed at pickup and again at delivery, and we will sign your practice’s business associate agreement before move day.

After hours and weekends are the norm

Most practices move Friday evening through Sunday. Building access, freight elevator time and the certificate of insurance get booked for those windows well in advance.

Equipment that needs a technician gets one

Anything requiring calibration, certification or a manufacturer authorized disconnect is booked with your service provider. We move it, we do not certify it.

What A Practice
Move Covers

Clinical rooms

Exam tables, treatment chairs, dental and procedure chairs, stools, mayo stands, cabinetry and carts.

Equipment

Imaging, sterilisers, autoclaves, compressors and vacuum units. Detailed on our medical equipment moving page. Calibration stays with your technician.

Patient records

Sealed, labeled and inventoried, moved under a written chain of custody, never transferred to a third party.

Front of house

Reception desks, waiting room seating, check in stations, displays and signage. Set last so the practice looks finished on day one.

Back office

Workstations, filing, breakroom and storage. Same crews and the same day.

IT and phones

Workstations, printers and small server or network gear. Larger racks are covered on our IT and server relocation page.

A Practice Move,
In Order

1

Walkthrough with your practice manager

We measure doors, elevators and dock access at both ends, list what needs a technician rather than a mover, and confirm your reopening date. You get a written not to exceed price.

2

Technicians booked before we load

Anything requiring a manufacturer authorized disconnect or recalibration gets scheduled first, so no crew waits and no equipment sits.

3

Records packed and sealed

Sealed, labeled and inventoried with the chain of custody form signed at pickup.

4

Clinical first, then back office, then front of house

Operatories and exam rooms land and get set, then the back office, then reception. That order is what shortens the closed window.

5

Set, walk and hand over

Furniture placed, records delivered and signed for, and a walk with your manager before we leave.

San Diego Practices
We Move

Practice moves cluster around the county’s medical campuses. Hillcrest and Bankers Hill sit dense around the hospital corridor, where street parking is the constraint and a permit is often the difference between a smooth load and a long carry. Kearny Mesa and Mission Valley hold a lot of multi tenant medical office buildings with shared docks and strict after hours rules. La Jolla and UTC cluster around the research and hospital campuses in buildings that mostly have proper freight access. Chula Vista and East County carry a growing number of suburban practices in single story buildings with grade level doors, which is the fastest kind of practice move. Encinitas and Carlsbad run coastal practices in newer low rise stock. We are a licensed California carrier, CAL-T #201759 and US DOT #4372335, operating since 1997.

Questions

How long will the practice be closed?+
That is the number the whole plan is built around. Most single suite practices move across a weekend and see patients Monday. Tell us your first appointment at the new address and we will build the schedule backwards from it, including whether it needs a larger crew to fit the window.
How do you handle patient records?+
Records travel sealed, labeled and inventoried, and they stay on our truck with our own crew, never transferred to a third party. We provide a written chain of custody form, signed at pickup and again at delivery, and we will sign your practice’s business associate agreement before move day.
Can you move imaging and sterilisation equipment?+
We move it. What we do not do is certify or calibrate it. Anything needing a manufacturer authorized disconnect or recalibration is booked with your service technician, and we sequence around their visit so nothing waits.
Do you work after hours?+
Yes, and most practices do. Friday evening through Sunday is the common pattern. Building access, elevator reservations and the certificate of insurance get arranged for those windows in advance.
Can you provide a certificate of insurance for our building?+
Yes, at no charge. Send us the building requirements and the wording they want and we will have it issued. Our certificate of insurance page explains what building managers usually ask for.
What about a whole practice, not just one suite?+
Same service at a larger scale, and it is worth more planning time. If it involves several sites or a phased schedule, our corporate relocation page covers how those run.
