That is our own ladder, from $119 an hour cash for two movers up to $269 for five. We publish it, which most San Diego movers do not. There is no deposit at any point, and nothing is charged before move day.

The I-5 line is what splits an Oceanside price
I-5 runs the length of the city north and south, and it is the dividing line for pricing. West of it is the older, built out coastal grid. The newer tract growth is central and east, and volume and access run in opposite directions across that line.
East of I-5 the homes are larger, so the cubic feet go up, but the truck stands within a few steps of the door. West of I-5 the homes are smaller, and the crew commonly works a curb to door carry because there is no driveway apron. That carry subtracts 0.15 from the access factor at that end, and the factor divides into the hours, so a smaller coastal home can bill more hours than a larger inland one.
SR-78 begins at I-5 in Oceanside and runs east toward Vista and San Marcos. SR-76 leaves I-5 and runs east along the San Luis Rey River, crossing Rancho del Oro Road and College Boulevard. Coast Highway is the spine through South Oceanside. From our Miramar yard the run is I-805 to I-5 north, or I-15 to SR-78 west for the east side.
What a curb to door carry costs on a Townsite or South Oceanside block
Townsite is the downtown grid running inland from the pier, small older cottages and bungalows mixed with duplexes, townhomes and condominiums. South Oceanside is the grid off Coast Highway, small older single story homes with infill. Many of these addresses have no driveway apron, so the truck stands at the curb and the crew carries.
As a number: a 2 bedroom is 850 cubic feet, three movers move 220 cubic feet an hour, half the load at each end. With a driveway at both ends that is 425 divided by 220, twice, about 3.9 hours. Put the carry on the load end and the factor drops to 0.85, so it becomes 425 divided by (220 x 0.85), about 2.3 hours, plus 1.9 at the other end. About 4.2 hours.
Call it 4.5 to 5 hours with drive time. Three movers at $169 an hour cash is $760.50 to $845 plus the flat $75 fuel fee, so $835.50 to $920. At 850 cubic feet it is one truck, and the $507 three hour minimum does not reach a job that length.
Some older blocks west of I-5 have a rear garage off an alley. Whether we stage there or at the front curb is settled per address before the day.
A second floor at the load end, priced out
One flight up subtracts 0.15 and one flight down subtracts 0.08, so a unit above the ground floor at the load end costs hours a ground floor unit does not. A 1 bedroom is 450 cubic feet and two movers move 120 an hour. Ground floor both ends is 225 divided by 120 twice, about 3.75 hours. Put the origin on a second floor with a curb carry and the load factor is 1.0 minus 0.15 for the flight minus 0.15 for the carry, or 0.70. That end becomes 225 divided by (120 x 0.70), about 2.7 hours, for a total near 4.6. Two movers at $119 for 4.5 to 5 hours is $535.50 to $595 plus $75 fuel, so $610.50 to $670.
Push further and the estimator changes the crew in your favor. Take that 850 cubic foot 2 bedroom out of a unit two flights up, which subtracts 0.30. Two movers run about 8.6 hours, and two movers at 7 or more hours becomes three, which brings it to about 4.7 hours. Two movers at $119 for 8.6 hours is $1023.40; three at $169 for 4.7 hours is $794.30. Fuel is $75 either way, so the larger crew is cheaper.
Fire Mountain sits on a hill and the hill shows up in the hours
Fire Mountain is custom construction on the hill, and slope can mean multi level interiors, entries above street level, and short or steep driveways. Stairs inside the home sit on top of whatever the entry costs. East of I-5 the terrain flattens.
A 3 bedroom is 1400 cubic feet. Three movers at 220 an hour, with the entry a flight above the street at the load end, gives 700 divided by (220 x 0.85), about 3.7 hours, plus 700 divided by 220 at a flat unload, about 3.2. Call it 7 hours: $169 x 7 is $1,183 plus $75 fuel, so $1,258. At 1400 cubic feet it is one truck, since trucks are cubic feet over 1800, rounded up.
East of I-5 the driveway is free and the second truck is not
The east side, including Rancho del Oro, is tract housing with attached garages and driveways. The access factor there stays at 1.0, so nothing is subtracted for a carry or for stairs at the entry. What goes up instead is volume, and volume buys a second truck.
A 4 bedroom is 2000 cubic feet. Divide by 1800, round up, and that is two trucks, plainly. Two trucks means the $150 second truck fee and a second $75 fuel charge, $300 on top of the labor. A 3 bedroom at 1400 stays on one truck, so the step from three bedrooms to four is where that charge appears.
Four movers at 275 cubic feet an hour, flat at both ends, is 1000 divided by 275 twice, about 7.3 hours. Call it 7.5 to 8 hours at $219, or $1,642.50 to $1,752. Add the $75 fuel fee, the $150 second truck fee and the second $75 fuel charge and the day lands at $1,942.50 to $2,052. Four movers escalate to five at 10 hours, which this job does not reach.
Pier and downtown condominiums load through a lobby, not off a curb
Condominium buildings near the pier and downtown load through a garage or a lobby with an elevator rather than off a curb. An elevator subtracts 0.15 at that end, the same as a long carry. We have not verified clearance heights or loading rules for any specific building, so the crew confirms both with building management first.
In the beach, harbor and downtown blocks the curb is metered and posted block by block, on top of housing with no driveway, so truck position gets settled before move day. As our own practice, not a reading of any city rule, we do not leave a loaded truck on an Oceanside street overnight.
Gates, park offices, and the Camp Pendleton line
Guard gated communities and mobile home parks both exist in Oceanside, and both add a check in step before the crew reaches the door. Streets inside a gate or a park are the HOA's call or the park's call rather than the city's, so the crew confirms access with the gate or the park office ahead of the day.
Camp Pendleton is a federal installation adjacent to the city, not an Oceanside neighborhood. City parking rules do not reach it and access is controlled by the base.
One question stays open. We found no moving truck curb reservation or no parking posting program on the city's own pages, so we claim neither that one exists nor that one does not.
