Route Facts
Why It Matters
Most long-distance movers know your origin city and nothing about where you're going. We're the opposite: San Diego is home. Our crews know which buildings need certificates of insurance, which neighborhoods need a smaller shuttle truck, how the senior communities schedule move-ins, and where a 26-foot truck can and can't park — from La Jolla's hillside streets to downtown high-rise freight elevators. Your delivery is the part we do every single day.
This Route
The Boise-to-San-Diego leg runs I-84/I-15 south (~935 miles, 3–5 days) — through the Snake River Plain, down the spine of Utah, and into the desert. Winter departures watch freezing fog in the Plain and snow through the Utah mountain stretches; the rest of the year this is one of the gentler returns on our board.
Most of our Boise pickups are returns and family moves — people heading back to Southern California for work, family, or the ocean they didn’t stop missing. The delivery end is our backyard: San Diego parking, coastal HOAs, beach-community access, military housing — handled by crews who do it every day rather than a contractor seeing the city for the first time.
The Part Nobody Tells You
Most companies quoting long-distance moves online are brokers — middlemen who take a deposit, then sell your move to the cheapest carrier they can find. That's how prices double at pickup and belongings get held hostage. When Discount Movers quotes your move, the company quoting you is the company that loads, drives, and delivers.

Before You Book
Typically 3–5 days, ~935 miles via I-84 and I-15.
Occasionally by hours — freezing fog and mountain snow get respected, not fought. The quoted window absorbs it.
The delivery is the skilled half: our crews know San Diego’s buildings, streets, and HOA rules cold, and we remain accountable in your new city after delivery day.
Regularly — San Diego is one of the largest military towns in America and base-adjacent deliveries are standard work for us.
