Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the discountmovers.com website and the moving services provided by Discount Movers ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"). By requesting a quote or booking our services, you agree to these Terms.

Services

Discount Movers provides residential and commercial moving, packing, loading, unloading, and related services in San Diego County, Riverside County, Orange County, and long distance routes throughout the continental United States. All services are subject to availability and confirmation by the Company.

Pricing

Local moves are billed at $109/hr for a 2-person crew with a 3-hour minimum ($327 minimum charge). Additional crew members are available at $50/hr each. All pricing is provided in writing prior to move day. A fuel fee applies to all moves. Double drive time applies to all local moves in California per CPUC regulations.

Long distance moves are priced at a flat rate based on home size, inventory, and distance. Flat rate quotes are provided in writing and are binding based on the inventory provided at the time of quoting.

Payment

Payment is due upon completion of services. We accept cash, check, and major credit cards. A deposit may be required for long distance moves.

Cancellation

Cancellations made with less than 48 hours notice may be subject to a cancellation fee. Long distance moves require 7 days notice for cancellation without penalty. Please contact us as early as possible if you need to reschedule.

Liability

Discount Movers carries standard moving liability insurance as required by California law. Basic valuation coverage is included at no additional charge at $0.60 per pound per article. Full replacement value protection is available for an additional charge and must be requested at time of booking.

The Company is not liable for damage to items not professionally packed by our crew, pre-existing damage, items of extraordinary value not declared in advance, or damage resulting from following customer instructions contrary to our professional recommendation.

Customer Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for ensuring clear access to all areas being moved, notifying the Company of any items requiring special handling (pianos, artwork, antiques), disclosing all stairs, elevators, or access restrictions at either location, and being present or having an authorized representative present during the move.

Any disputes arising from our services shall first be addressed by contacting us directly at (858) 490-0155 or sales@discountmovers.com. We are committed to resolving disputes fairly and promptly.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. For interstate moves, applicable federal regulations under the FMCSA also apply.
