Top Five Activities To Know About if You Moving to Poway:

1. Hiking to the summit of Mt. Woodson:

   It is about 7 miles round trip from the Lake Poway side. It is all uphill on the way to the top. Keep in mind that there are only restrooms at the beginning of the hike. It is a somewhat steep climb up from the lake. There are area’s you can get off the trail and relax. It’s a great workout with some great views and fresh air. Be sure to bring water to keep hydrated for the hike.

2. PowPAC, Poway’s Community Theater at 13250 Poway Rd, Poway, CA 92064:

   There is a great vibe at this community theater. It’s a small theater with just 65 seats. There is not a bad seat in the house. The price per ticket is very reasonable.  There are ticket discounts for seniors, students, and military. It is hard to believe that the production is totally volunteer.

3. Old Poway Park at 14134 Midland Rd, Poway, CA 92064: 

   This park has the feeling of a bygone era. The park has its own 1907 Baldwin No. 3 Steam Locomotive that circles the park.  For a small charge, there are also a Trolley and Cable Car that you can ride. On Saturday mornings the park hosts a Farmer’s Market from 8am-1pm.  The park is home to the Heritage Museum and the Nelson House. The Heritage Museum has exhibits that show the history of Poway.

4. Lake Poway at 14644 Lake Poway Road, Poway 92064:

   Lake Poway has many fishing options from the shore, dock, or boat. The building at the lake entrance sells everything from bait to equipment. You do not need a California State License to fish on the lake.  There is a small permit fee required that varies by age.  You can fish Wednesday to Sunday from 6 am till sunset.  You can bring your dog but it will need to be on a leash at all times.The lake offers many boat rental options.  Motorboats range from $15 per hour or $30 for all-day fishing.  Rowboats for fishing are $12 per half day and $20 per full day.  The lake also has Pedal Boats available for $10 per half hour and $15 per hour.  Boating is available Wednesday thru Sunday from 6 am to a half hour before sunset. The only drawback is for non-Poway residents there is a $10 entry fee but it is more than worth it to spend time on the lake.

5. Cosmic Bowling at Poway Fun Bowl at 12941 Poway Road, Poway 92064:

   It’s always a fun time whether you’re bowling with the family or spending quality time with that someone special. Poway Fun Bowl is family-owned and has 32 lanes, an arcade and pool tables. It’s a great spot for teenagers looking for something to do on the weekend. On Friday and Saturday Nights at 9:30 pm Poway Fun Bowl turns the regular lights off and the neon lights on.  Cosmic Bowl is very reasonably priced at $19 per person and includes 3 hours of bowling and shoes.
