La Costa is a beautifully scenic part of Carlsbad. La Costa is a more expensive part of Carlsbad generally speaking. Many people don’t know about La Costa until they move into the area of Carlsbad, which is adjacent. The community of La Costa has a “resort like feeling,” but many people do live there year round with solid sense of community with spectacular homes that are lined along the golf course.
The wonderful aspect of La Costa is that part of the negotiations that enabled La Costa to break off from Carlsbad back in 1952 was the fact that La Costa agreed to protect wild life, keep specific amounts of land with no development and to restore habitat that had been destroyed in the past due to too much development. As a result, La Costa has a sense of space, more then some other areas of San Diego.
Many people who live in the area belong to the La Costa Resort and Spa, which is a highly rated resort.
