Please Call Us 24 to 48 Hours Before Your Move If Anything Is Different From What You Told Us Over the Phone When You Booked Your Move. (Example: Inventory changes, you have stairs to go up where you didn't before, location changes, you changed the building you are moving into, you have to stop somewhere, your date changes etc.) Read more to learn why and how this saves you money.........
For example, if over the telephone you tell us you have 30 boxes, no heavy furniture and no stairs....you will get an estimated time frame quote based on that inventory. (We charge by the hour and it is what it is when we show up.) .........Then if we show up to your home and find there is really 150 boxes, a baby grand piano and three flights of stairs, then not only will our estimated time frame not be accurate........but we will most likely have to rebook the move to include more movers and a bigger truck; something we could have initially recommended to save you money and protect your valuables in the first place. Our estimates are EXTREMELY accurate when we are given an accurate inventory and will save YOU the most amount of money if you follow our recommendations.

Please Know Which Items Moving Companies Can Not Move UNLESS They Are Packed in Sealed Moving Boxes: Knowing this upfront can help save you money and time. Professional, licensed and insured moving companies can NOT move the following items as a protection to you unless they are packed in sealed moving boxes. 1. Loose lamps -If you want lamps moved, they need to be inside of "lamp boxes." Otherwise they will need to be transported in your car.
2. Televisions, computers and electronics -If you want our movers to transport these fragile electronics, then they need to be packed inside of sealed boxes. However since electronic moving boxes can be very expensive, is typically best to transport these items in your car, unless they are too large.

The doors of your refrigerator should be left open several hours to air after defrosting. 4. All pans, trays, crispers, shelves or removable parts should be removed and wrapped individually. 5, Have your refrigerator serviced too before moving day -The motor may have to be bolted down before moving. -Do not plug it in at the new home until it has been unbolted.

This means, if there is moving damages, you will receive only 60 cents a POUND. Example: A 100 pound item( even if it is worth $10,000), you would receive .60 cents x 100 =$60. 2. What Is Full Replacement Coverage Moving Insurance? If you want to receive full replacement value for your valuables in the event of moving damages, you need to purchase full replacement moving insurance 48 hours before your scheduled move. 3. Can I Buy Full Replacement Coverage for Only One Or Two Valuable Items Like a Flat Screen Television? -At Moving Insurance.com, prices start from $30 a policy on up with a $250 deductable if there are any moving damages. Baker Insurance does not offer this option and really specializes in very large, cross country moves. Baker requires that you buy coverage your entire home, and they have a minimum deductible of $1000 and a minimum policy size of $250. (The cost of our total average move is $300-$400)
